Islamabad: The King Salman Relief Center has launched a major winter aid initiative in Pakistan, aimed at providing essential winter clothing to thousands of underprivileged families across the country. The official launch ceremony was held at the Saudi Embassy in Islamabad, attended by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf.
Speaking at the event, Minister Yousaf highlighted the strong bond of brotherhood and trust between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, noting that the Kingdom has consistently supported Pakistan during times of need. He praised the King Salman Relief Center for its global humanitarian efforts, with Pakistan being a significant beneficiary of its programs.
Under the initiative, 22,000 deserving families across Pakistan will receive winter kits, benefitting approximately 154,000 individuals. Each kit includes two blankets, warm clothing for the entire family, sweaters, socks, and caps, ensuring protection against harsh winter conditions.
Minister Yousaf further stated that the distribution will be carried out in coordination with NDMA, PDMA, rural support organizations, and local authorities, ensuring timely delivery of aid. He described the project as a symbol of the deep compassion and support of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, for the people of Pakistan.
Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Saeed Almaliki also expressed gratitude for the collaborative effort, emphasizing that this humanitarian initiative will strengthen ties of friendship and goodwill between the two nations, fostering peace and prosperity.
