Riyadh: Saudi Arabia is mourning the passing of Lieutenant General Saeed bin Abdullah Al-Qahtani, Assistant Minister of Interior for Operations, the Ministry of Interior announced on social media platform X on Friday, expressing condolences to his family and loved ones.

Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif paid tribute to Al-Qahtani, saying, “Lieutenant General Al-Qahtani served the Ministry with exemplary dedication for over six decades. His contributions to national security will always be remembered.”

A graduate of the King Fahd Security College, Lieutenant General Al-Qahtani held multiple key positions during his long and distinguished career, playing a pivotal role in shaping the Kingdom’s internal security and operational strategies. His expertise and leadership were widely recognised within the Ministry and across the security establishment.

Over the course of his 60-year career, Al-Qahtani was credited with overseeing critical operations, implementing strategic reforms, and mentoring generations of officers, leaving a lasting impact on Saudi Arabia’s security infrastructure. His passing has left a significant void in both the Ministry of Interior and the broader national security community.

The Ministry’s statement expressed deep sorrow over his loss and highlighted his legacy of service, commitment, and professionalism, which have been praised by colleagues and officials across the Kingdom.

Lieutenant General Al-Qahtani is survived by his family, and Saudi authorities, along with the public, continue to honour his lifelong dedication to the safety and security of the Kingdom.
