ISLAMABAD: Human rights lawyer Imaan Mazari has urged the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to preserve CCTV footage of an incident that reportedly took place in the courtroom of Chief Justice Aamer Farooq Dogar earlier this month.
In her application to the IHC registrar, Mazari highlighted that the incident occurred on September 11, 2025, between 9am and 11am in Courtroom No.1. She maintained that the exchange was captured on CCTV and requested that the footage be preserved without delay.
I write to you today to seek preservation of CCTV footage as an unfortunate incident took place with the undersigned counsel, as a result of which it is imperative that the exchange recorded on the CCTV footage is preserved, Mazari stated in her application.
She further noted that her request for a copy of the CCTV footage, along with a USB provided for the purpose, has so far gone unanswered. Terming the footage crucial evidence, she appealed for the court’s immediate intervention.
Mazari also pointed out that her complaint regarding the matter has yet to be properly addressed, expressing concern that the Chief Justice had recused himself from any inquiry related to her grievance.
The lawyer reiterated that timely preservation of the footage was essential to ensure transparency and accountability in the proceedings surrounding the incident.
