Riyadh: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Thursday received a written message from Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman, highlighting the importance of strengthening bilateral relations and promoting peace, stability, and cooperation across the region.

According to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the message was delivered by Omani Ambassador Najeeb bin Hilal bin Saud Al-Busaidi during a high-level meeting with Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Engineer Abdulkarim Al-Khuriji at the Foreign Ministry headquarters in Riyadh.

During the discussions, officials from both countries explored a broad range of topics, including political, economic, and cultural cooperation, future joint projects, and opportunities for mutual investment. The meeting also focused on regional stability, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to fostering security and development in the Gulf and broader Middle East.

Saudi Arabia and Oman share historically strong and friendly relations, grounded in mutual trust and shared interests. Analysts say Thursday’s meeting reflects a concerted effort to further institutionalize cooperation and advance practical projects in sectors such as education, culture, energy, and infrastructure. Officials stressed that these initiatives aim to enhance public welfare and contribute to sustained economic growth across the region.

The written message underscores the shared vision of both nations for a stable, prosperous, and secure region, a source familiar with the meeting told Daar News. It also sends a clear signal that Riyadh and Muscat are committed to turning diplomatic dialogue into actionable collaboration.

Experts view the exchange as a significant step in strengthening Gulf unity at a time of regional challenges, including economic diversification, security threats, and geopolitical shifts. By formalizing high-level diplomatic communications, Saudi Arabia and Oman are setting an example for constructive engagement in the Gulf and the wider Middle East.

The meeting also focused on prioritizing joint investment projects, enhancing trade ties, and promoting cross-border cultural and educational exchanges. Both sides reportedly agreed to continue consultations on energy cooperation, infrastructure development, and other strategic initiatives that have the potential to boost regional integration and economic resilience.

Analysts say that Saudi-Omani collaboration could serve as a model for other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, demonstrating how dialogue and partnership can underpin stability, economic growth, and social development in the region.

Officials from both nations pledged to maintain a steady dialogue and strengthen mechanisms for ongoing cooperation. The discussions signal a proactive approach to regional challenges and opportunities, reflecting a shared commitment to peace, stability, and prosperity.
