ISLAMABAD: Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki, has reiterated that the Saudi government and people will never leave Pakistan alone, emphasizing that the bilateral relationship continues to grow stronger and more stable with each passing day. The remarks came during the launch of Ramadan food packages for deserving families across Pakistan, organized by King Salman Relief Center.
Speaking to the media, Ambassador Al-Maliki said that the relief center, in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), has begun distributing aid in 30 districts under the Food Basket Project (5) Pakistan 2026, targeting 192,500 vulnerable individuals. Each food package weighs 97 kilograms and is designed to cover the full month of Ramadan for a single family, containing 80 kg flour, 5 liters cooking oil, 5 kg sugar, 2 kg dates, and 5 kg chickpeas.
The King Salman Relief Center stressed that the distribution process is being conducted in a transparent and coordinated manner, with provincial and district disaster management authorities, the Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Management Authority, the State Disaster Management Authority, local administrations, and partner organizations Hayat Foundation and Peace and Development Organization ensuring seamless delivery to beneficiaries.
Minister for Religious Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, praised the ongoing Saudi support, saying that after the landmark “Operation Haq” Pakistan-Saudi relations have gained further depth and strength. He noted that Saudi leadership, including King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Mohammed bin Salman, placed Pakistanis first during this holy month, highlighting the brotherhood and mutual respect between the two nations.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are one soul in two bodies, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said. The Saudi government has consistently proven, through practical support, its unwavering solidarity with the Pakistani people. He added that the bravery of Pakistan’s armed forces has elevated the country’s global standing, further cementing the long-standing partnership with Saudi Arabia
Experts note that the initiative is not only a vital source of relief for vulnerable families during Ramadan but also a powerful symbol of cooperation, trust, and enduring friendship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
