ABU DHABI: Bahrain’s Parliamentary Division actively participated in the 31st Arab Scout Conference hosted by the Emirates Scout Association, underlining the kingdom’s commitment to youth development and regional cooperation.
The delegation’s presence reflects Bahrain’s dedication to empowering young people, in line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who places youth at the centre of national development, and supported by the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, who prioritizes initiatives that strengthen youth participation in nation-building.
Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of Bahrain’s Council of Representatives, has highlighted the importance of youth partnerships and parliamentary collaboration in scouting and volunteerism, emphasizing Bahrain’s role in regional and international forums. The conference provided a key platform for Arab Scout associations to exchange knowledge, showcase successful programmes, and align youth work with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, reinforcing joint Arab cooperation.
Delegates engaged in discussions on the development of the Arab Scout movement, adoption of general policies, election of the new Arab Scout Committee, and approval of financial and administrative reports. The agenda also focused on youth initiatives, digital transformation, leadership, and innovation in scouting, along with proposed amendments to the Constitution of the Arab Scout Organization and Arab Scout Region. Future conference and camp venues were determined, and specialized sessions were held on sustainability, digital leadership, youth protection, innovative education, and the evolving role of volunteerism in the Arab world.
