As part of an ongoing crackdown on violations of Hajj regulations in Saudi Arabia, security authorities in Makkah have arrested a foreign resident of Egyptian nationality accused of involvement in fraudulent activities related to the pilgrimage.
According to details, the individual was allegedly operating deceptive schemes through social media platforms, where he promoted fake advertisements offering Hajj permits and unauthorized access to the holy sites in Makkah. He is also accused of misleading pilgrims and residents by falsely advertising services connected to Hajj arrangements, with the intent of financial exploitation.
Security forces took swift action and detained the suspect, after which legal proceedings were initiated against him. He has since been referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation to determine the extent of his involvement and whether additional individuals may be connected to the fraudulent network.
Authorities emphasized that strict enforcement measures are being carried out to combat any illegal or deceptive activities related to Hajj. They reiterated that such violations will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and offenders will face firm legal consequences to ensure the safety and integrity of pilgrimage arrangements.
