In a heartwarming demonstration of compassion and medical excellence, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has successfully sponsored a life-saving cardiac surgery for a young Palestinian girl, Mira Suhaib Aqqad, who was born with a serious congenital heart condition. The complex operation, performed at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh under the Ministry of National Guard, marks another milestone in the Kingdom’s ongoing humanitarian initiatives that reach far beyond its borders.

According to officials familiar with the operation, the mission was carried out as part of Saudi Arabia’s continued commitment to global health aid under the direct instructions of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. The directive aimed not only to provide critical medical care to Mira but also to reaffirm Saudi Arabia’s moral and humanitarian responsibility toward children suffering from rare or life-threatening illnesses, regardless of their nationality or background.

Doctors involved in the procedure revealed that Mira’s condition was highly delicate, requiring advanced pediatric cardiac expertise and state-of-the-art medical technology. A multidisciplinary team of Saudi specialists, including cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, and pediatric care experts, worked round the clock to ensure the success of the operation. The surgery was performed under meticulously controlled conditions, lasting several hours, after which the child was moved to the intensive care unit for post-operative monitoring.

The young patient responded remarkably well to the treatment and has since made a full recovery. Following a detailed medical evaluation confirming her improved condition, Mira was discharged and has safely returned to her home country. Before her departure, she received follow-up consultations and post-surgical care supported by KSrelief’s medical team to ensure her continued well-being.

The family of the child expressed deep gratitude to the Saudi leadership, describing the assistance as a “gift of life” from the Kingdom. Mira’s father stated that their family had nearly lost hope due to the complexity and cost of the procedure, but Saudi Arabia’s generous intervention changed their fate. He emphasized that the Kingdom’s compassion goes beyond political boundaries and is reflected in its consistent global humanitarian efforts.

In a statement, Mira’s mother said that the kindness and professionalism of the Saudi medical staff were extraordinary. She noted that from the moment they arrived in Riyadh until the completion of treatment, the entire process was handled with immense care and respect. The family praised the medical staff at King Abdulaziz Medical City for their dedication, empathy, and skill, which played a key role in ensuring Mira’s rapid recovery.

The initiative is part of KSrelief’s broader humanitarian framework, which focuses on providing healthcare, disaster relief, and social welfare support to vulnerable communities around the world. Over the years, KSrelief has led numerous medical missions, including cardiac surgeries for children from conflict-affected regions, prosthetic limb programs for war victims, and medical aid shipments to crisis zones.

Saudi Arabia’s leadership continues to highlight the importance of compassion-driven diplomacy, particularly in supporting those in distress. The successful completion of Mira’s surgery not only underscores the Kingdom’s medical capabilities but also reaffirms its unwavering dedication to humanitarian service and the protection of human life.

Medical observers have lauded this initiative as another shining example of Saudi Arabia’s global outreach under Vision 2030, where health and humanitarian development form an integral part of the nation’s soft power. By offering treatment to a child from Palestine, Saudi Arabia has once again shown that its humanitarian vision transcends borders and religious, ethnic, or national divides.

This heart surgery stands as a testament to the Saudi government’s ongoing commitment to aiding those in desperate need, continuing a long tradition of generosity that mirrors the values of mercy and solidarity upheld by the Kingdom’s rulers.
