A close senior aide to Iran’s Supreme Leader, *Ali Khamenei, namely *Mohammad Mokhber, declared in an interview with state media that Iran will not engage in talks with the United States under any circumstances. He stated that Tehran has no trust in the American leadership and sees no foundation upon which negotiations could currently take place. According to him, Iran is fully prepared and possesses the capability to continue the war for as long as necessary.
Mokhber emphasized that Iran will determine its course of action independently and will not bow to external pressure. He maintained that the country’s military and defense institutions remain fully alert and operational. If circumstances require, he said, Iran is capable of sustaining prolonged confrontation based on its own strategic calculations. He underlined that the nation has the resources, personnel, and determination to endure an extended conflict.
At the diplomatic level, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also adopted a sharp tone. In a public statement, he criticized U.S. President Donald Trump, accusing him of damaging diplomatic efforts and misleading his own voters. Araghchi argued that nuclear negotiations that had been facilitated through Oman were abruptly undermined by anger-driven and retaliatory decisions, effectively destroying the fragile atmosphere of trust that had been developing.
He further remarked that treating international negotiations as if they were merely commercial transactions makes it impossible to achieve realistic and sustainable outcomes. In his view, diplomacy requires seriousness, mutual respect, and practical expectations—not unilateral demands or pressure tactics. Iran, he implied, cannot participate in a process where balance and credibility are absent.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that the door to talks with Iran has been closed. He claimed that Iranian leaders may have previously expressed interest in dialogue, but insisted that the opportunity has now passed. This declaration further widened the diplomatic gap between Washington and Tehran.
On the military front, the situation remains highly volatile. The United States Central Command reported that it had targeted seventeen Iranian naval vessels and destroyed hundreds of ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. It also stated that B-2 bomber aircraft struck positions associated with Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. These claims signal a significant escalation and suggest direct and sustained military engagement.
Conversely, according to American estimates, Iran has launched more than five hundred ballistic missiles and over two thousand drones toward Israel and certain Gulf states. Although independent verification of these figures remains limited, the scale described reflects an unusually intense level of confrontation.
