Iran’s top diplomat Abbas Araghchi took to the social media platform X to address what he described as a serious distortion of his country’s stance by sections of the American media. He stressed that the narrative being presented does not accurately reflect Iran’s actual position regarding the ongoing situation.
In his detailed message, Araghchi made it clear that Iran has consistently appreciated the constructive role played by Pakistan. He emphasized that Tehran holds Islamabad’s diplomatic efforts in high regard and remains thankful for the initiatives undertaken to help ease tensions. Contrary to some circulating claims, he clarified that Iran has never turned down the possibility of engaging with Pakistan or visiting Islamabad for dialogue.
The foreign minister further elaborated that Iran’s primary concern is not about the venue or the process itself, but rather about achieving a meaningful outcome. According to him, what truly matters is establishing clear and fair conditions that can bring about a decisive and enduring end to what he described as an unjust and imposed conflict. He underlined that any resolution must be comprehensive and sustainable, rather than temporary or superficial.
Araghchi’s remarks reflected a broader call for accuracy in international reporting, as well as a reaffirmation of Iran’s openness to diplomatic engagement under the right circumstances. He reiterated that misinterpretations can hinder peace efforts and create unnecessary confusion at a critical time.
