ABBOTTABAD : Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, on Saturday issued a firm warning to India, declaring that there is “no space for war in a nuclearised environment,” as he lauded Pakistan’s clear victory during the May 2025 conflict with its eastern neighbour.
Speaking at the passing-out parade of cadets at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul, the army chief cautioned New Delhi against reckless adventurism and vowed that Pakistan would deliver a decisive and disproportionate response to even a minor provocation.
The onus of any escalation one that may have catastrophic consequences for the entire region and beyond will squarely lie with India, Munir asserted. Pakistan’s Victory in May Conflict Strengthened National Unity.
Referring to the May conflict, sparked after India’s Operation Sindoor inside Pakistani territory, Munir said Pakistan’s retaliatory Operation Bunyan um Marsoos had neutralized all threats with remarkable professionalism.
He highlighted that Pakistan’s armed forces displayed multi-domain warfare capabilities” by downing advanced Rafales and targeting S-400 sites during the four-day confrontation.
Our collective success has re-energized the spirit of patriotism and strengthened the bond between the people and the armed forces, he said.
Munir credited Pakistan’s victory to a battle-hardened army supported by a united nation men, women, and youth standing tall like a wall of steel. In a message directed at Afghanistan, the army chief urged Kabul to choose mutual security over perpetual violence, urging the Taliban regime to act against terrorist sanctuaries inside Afghanistan.
Like our victory in the conventional domain, every state proxy of our neighbor will be razed to dust, God willing, he warned, reiterating Pakistan’s resolve to fight all forms of terrorism.
Munir also accused India of state-sponsored terrorism through proxies, describing Fitna al-Khawarij (TTP) and Fitna al-Hind (Baloch insurgents) as tools used to destabilize Pakistan.
Highlighting Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach, the COAS said, Pakistan has successfully emerged as a net regional stabiliser amidst growing global volatility.
He cited stronger ties with Muslim countries, the Pakistan–Saudi Arabia Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement, and reinvigorated relations with China and the United States as proof of Pakistan’s growing role in regional peace and stability.
Munir also praised U.S. President Donald Trump’s strategic leadership for helping end multiple conflicts, including the recent Pakistan–India ceasefire and Gaza truce negotiations.
Condemning Israel’s blatant aggression and genocide in Gaza, the army chief reaffirmed Pakistan’s principled stance on the two-state solution, insisting that peace is only possible with an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds as its capital.
Pakistan expects the ceasefire in Gaza to hold and humanitarian aid to flow without hindrance, he said.
Addressing the cadets, Field Marshal Munir warned against the perils of digital misinformation, urging Pakistan’s youth to remain intellectually vigilant in the post-truth era. Perceptions now carry more weight than reality. Your strength will lie in discerning fact from fiction, he cautioned.
